Meghan Markle to spend Christmas with royal family

Meghan Markle will join Prince Harry and other members of the royal family at Sandringham, Queen Elizabeth's estate, on Christmas Day, Kensington Palace said Wednesday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will go to Sandringham for Christmas.

Markle, 36, and Harry, 33, announced their engagement on November 27.

Loved-up Harry and Meghan announced their engagement last month and are due to Wednesday in Windsor in May.

The couple, who will marry at Windsor Castle in May, made their first official engagement together on December 1.

American Ms Markle revealed last month she has met the Queen a couple of times and described her as an "incredible woman".

It's a break from tradition, according to "Today", which reported that Kate Middleton was not invited to the estate during her engagement to Prince William.

Other royal fiancés have traditionally not attended either.

Fans start queuing up early to greet the Royals as they walk the 330 yards to the 16th-century church, normally led by Prince Philip.

There is speculation that Harry and his bride-to-be may stay with the Cambridges at their nearby home, Anmer Hall, but if they are accommodated by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at Sandringham they will follow a German tradition observed by generations of the royal family.

The Duchess of Cambridge was forced to wait until she married Prince Harry before she was able to attend.
