Magnitude 5.0 quake strikes Uttararkhand and adjoining regions

A strong natural disaster that was estimated to measure 5.5 on the Richter scale struck Uttarakhand around 8:50 pm on Wednesday.

An quake of 5.5 magnitude on the Richter Scale jolted Delhi- National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday.

There were no reports of loss of property or life. After these shocks, people have an atmosphere of panic and came out of their homes as precaution.


Tremors were also felt in Roorkee and Dehradun in Uttarakhand.

However, reports are coming that the impact of the natural disaster was not so remarkable even many have not felt it. Dehradun reports suggested no casualties.

Earlier today, a 3.5 magnitude quake hit Rajkot, Rapar districts of Gujarat. It is also known as the third most earthquake-prone city in India.
