Leak Suggests New Samsung Galaxy S9 Color Option

Tech site SamMobile says Samsung could be bringing the purple color option for its next release.

In November, Microsoft started selling Samsung Galaxy Note 8 from its online store that comes packed with pre-installed apps like virtual assistant Cortana, Word, Excel, OneNote and Outlook. That never happened but now the rumors are surfacing again for the Galaxy S9. Now, a new leak on Chinese social media network, Weibo gives us a better look at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus. If you still remember, the Galaxy S8 was rumored to come in a violet/purple shade but didn't.

Ko Dong-jin, president of Samsung's IM Division, in an interaction with Korea Business said the company has plans to debut the flagship phone with a bendable feature in 2018.

As mentioned on the 42 Page long Patent filed by Samsung, they will be using the Camera of the phone to take a picture of the palm and the combination of lines on the palm will be matched with the ones stored on the device. Samsung phones have a lot of different ways of unlocking them like pin, password, fingerprint sensor, iris scanner and facial recognition.

In 2017, big and small branded phones embraced bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio and in the coming year, we expect to see the next stage of the phone evolution in the form of flexible screen.

It isn't clear if this will make it to a Samsung handset in the near future, but it's an interesting idea that could allow for multi-factor authentication for greater security, or an on-device method for helping your recall your forgotten password. So while the Galaxy S9 may come in that color you so greatly desire, it may not be available in your country.
