John Travolta's 'Gotti' Looking for a New Home

Home Movies John Travolta "Gotti" Movie, with 38 Producers Listed, Sleeps with the Fishes. The producers are expected to seek new distribution for the movie, but the planned release date of December 15 looks impossible.

Now it likely won't hit theaters until sometime in 2018.

Lionsgate did not explain to Entertainment Weekly why it chose to not distribute "The Life and Death of John Gotti" when it sold it back to Emmett/Furla/Oasis.

"Gotti" also stars Travolta's wife Kelly Preston as Victoria Gotti and Stacy Keach as Gotti's mentor.


"Gotti" started production and filmed at various places in Hamilton and Butler counties in 2016 after several delays and false starts.

The film stars Oscar-nominated actor John Travolta as John Gotti, the infamous leader of the Gambino crime family.

TheWrap has also learned that the removal from schedule and resale was not related to the film itself, but rather a question of release strategy.

The Tracking Board first reported the film's removal from schedule and resale. The film will be directed by Kevin Connolly, best known as talent manager Eric Murphy in the "Entourage" franchise.
