Huawei launched an affordable Honor 9, called the Honor 9 Lite

Honor 9 Lite price starts at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs. 11,700) for the 3GB RAM, 32GB storage variant, with the 4GB RAM, 32GB storage variant priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,600) and the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage variant priced at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 17,500). It measures 151×71.9×7.6mm, and weighs 149 grams. The Lite phone is said to be the "Youth Edition". It also powers Honor branded phones like Honor 9i and Honor 7X. If those are not enough, you can always take advantage of the microSD card slot.

Unlike the Honor 9 that has large bezels and a traditional 16:9 display, the Honor 9 Lite features very slim bezels and an 18:9 display with a fingerprint sensor that's been moved to the back.

As expected, the Honor 9 Lite has more in common with the 7X than the regular Honor 9 while handily beating the two's camera counts. The phones come with a 13-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary sensor on both rear and front panels. Due to the full screen design of the phone, Honor has chose to place the fingerprint scanner on the backside of the Honor 9 Lite. Consumers in Latin America will now have access to Honor's latest smartphones, including the Honor 7X, unrivaled in delivering the most premium smartphone features and hardware at just $199.99 for the United States model with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The battery is also a bit smaller than the one of the Honor 9, but then again, the price difference is quite substantial so it's only natural that the Honor 9 Lite doesn't offer everything the original model had to give.

The Honor 9 Lite runs on Emotion UI which is already based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

What do you think about the Honor 9 Lite's specifications and pricing? The 32 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM variants are respectively priced at 1,499 Yuan (~$227) and 1,799 Yuan (~$273). The new model will become available for purchase in China starting December 26.
