Dead & Company show canceled at Amway because of John Mayer's appendix

As previously reported, John's medical emergency has forced his band Dead & Company to postpone the final three dates of their current tour.

A representative for the Grammy-winning musician said Mayer was admitted to the hospital Tuesday morning in New Orleans.

The concerts scheduled for New Orleans on Dec. 5, Orlando on Dec. 7 and Sunrise on Dec. 8 are all postponed. The newly shelved shows were to have taken place this Thursday in Orlando, Florida, and Friday in Sunrise, Florida.

The remaining two shows of the tour have since been postponed.

Dead and Company issued a statement concerning the health of their frontman John Mayer.

Officials at the Amway Center say that a new date for the Orlando engagement is expected to be issued soon and that tickets purchased for the December 7 performance will be honored at the new date. The group includes former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann. Ticketholders can get refunds at the point of purchase.

Back in April, John Mayer released his seventh solo studio album, The Search for Everything.
