OnePlus just announced a handsome new Lava Red OnePlus 5T

OnePlus 5T in India starts at Rs 32999 for the 6GB/64GB variant and goes up to Rs 37999 for the larger 8GB/128GB version. During special one-hour preview sale, held on November 24, the OnePlus 5T was sold out within the first 5 minutes. Having said that, both the 6GB and 8GB RAM variants of the phone are now available in India, the 6GB RAM model will set you back Rs. 32,999 ($512), while you'll need to splash out Rs. 37,999 ($589) if you'd like to get the 8GB RAM one. There is Rs 1500 instant discount on the purchase of the smartphone via HDFC Bank debit and credit cards. The smartphone is now only available in Midnight Black colour. "This is the segment that we appeal to, owing to our focus on bringing the best technology and we expect OnePlus to be the brand of choice, in the premium smartphone segment for them".

The device was unveiled simultaneously in India along with the rest of the world on November 16 and received good response from Indian customers during the early access launch exclusively for Amazon Prime members on November 21. OnePlus 5T, whose sale began at 12:01 AM IST, is a successor to company's last flagship phone OnePlus 5.

Spec-wise, the 5T improves upon its predecessor, the OnePlus 5, in certain important categories. The OnePlus 5T features a tall 6.01-inch Full HD+ Optic-AMOLED screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. Underneath the skin, the custom OS is still running on top of Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Powering the phone is Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 SoC that is paired with Adreno 540 GPU for graphics.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 5T sports a dual-camera setup with a combination of a 20-megapixel sensor of f/1.7 aperture and a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture. But as a compensation, it has introduced Face Unlock tech, which is claimed to be based on advanced facial recognition algorithm.
