Motorola unveils Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod

The Insta-Share Printer will be available for $199.99 in the USA at Verizon and Motorola.com beginning November 17, and will be available for pre-order at Best Buy, B&H, Fry's and Newegg on December 6, with general availability starting December 13.

The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer, as it's called, looks like a little angular box snapped to the phone like a backpack.

Motorola has a new Moto Mod: the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer.

The Moto Mod system was launched on the original Moto Z and lets you add new functions to compatible phones using a series of optional bolt-ons, which magnetically clip onto the phone's back. Simply take the picture and then print it right from whatever Motorola smartphone you're using. To give your pictures some more flair, you can customize them with filters, borders, or text before you print them out. Since this is a Mod made in collaboration with Polaroid, you can order Polaroid's 2 x 3 inch ZINK paper to restock from stores like Amazon.

The photo paper features an adhesive back that you can peel off and stick onto, well, whatever you want.

It seems to be pretty much exactly what you expect.

Users can print from their camera roll or directly from Instagram, Facebook and Google Photos.

The Insta-Share isn't the first time Motorola's partnered with a big name to make a Moto Mod, though: two years ago, the company unveiled the Hasselblad True Zoom.
