Civilization VI Getting Rise and Fall Expansion Pack

The new expansion also brings a new system "Emergencies".

Civilization VI has some vast changes on the way-and that's before we've even mentioned the "nine new leaders and eight new civilizations" to be unveiled as the February release date draws near.

Civilization VI's latest expansion, Rise and Fall, has been unveiled today with a brilliant CGI trailer. Arriving with the title Civilization VI: Rise and Fall, the expansion's brand new announcement trailer can be seen above. You'll now have to keep your cities loyal to your empire, because cities with low loyalty will risk declaring its independence, in turn allowing other civilizations to woo that city and add it to their own empires. The new Great Ages system is one of these new additions. Keep your eyes peeled for more information about the Rise and Fall expansion pack ahead of its release on 8th February by visiting the Civilization website. It introduces the concept of dynamic empires: civilizations that change allegiances, national borders that constantly shift depending on the political environment, and cities that have the ability to change loyalty throughout your campaign.

GOVERNORS: Recruit, appoint, and upgrade powerful characters with unique specialization bonuses and promotion trees to customize your cities, and reinforce Loyalty.

TIMELINE: Review your civilization's history at any time with the new Timeline feature, a visual journey through the Historic Moments that you encountered on your path to victory. Now it allows for flipping control of entire cities to different players without military force. In this system, if one civilization grows too strong then the weaker civilization can join up against the strong civilization and reap better rewards. Each brings unique bonuses and gameplay, as well as a total of eight unique units, two unique buildings, four unique improvements, and two unique districts. It also includes governors while expanding existing Diplomacy and Government systems.

For starters, Rise and Fall will add nine new leaders and eight new civilizations to the game, but 2K isn't ready to talk about what or who they are just yet.

Released in October of previous year, Civilization VI is the latest in the grand legacy of Sid Meier's Civilization, one of the greatest and longest-running simulation series of all time.
