Twitter suspends Rose McGowan's account after Ben Affleck tweets

She added in the caption, "TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME".

She is the fourth woman to level a rape accusation against Weinstein.

Merseyside Police says the allegation was made Wednesday and concerns "an alleged sexual assault in the London area in the 1980s". But she has been outspoken in the social media conversation around Harvey Weinstein and his multiple alleged assaults on women over decades.

In The New Yorker expose, a former actress, Lucia Evans, said Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex in 2004 when she was a college student.

Beckinsale claimed she was 17 years old when she was called to Weinstein's hotel room, where the producer opened the door in his bathrobe and offered her alcohol. I said I was the proof. Many of them, she said, were well aware of his predatory nature, and she called them out by name.

McGowan's account was limited by Twitter for allegedly violating its community standards, she said in an Instagram post. "We will be clearer about these policies and decisions in the future", the company said. McGowan referred to it as a suspension.

Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale, who has worked with Harvey Weinstein in movies like "Serendipity" and "The Aviator", has now joined the growing list of actresses, who have accused the studio mogul of sexual abuse.

Amazon and The Weinstein Co. are partners on two forthcoming streaming TV series. The staff of Weinstein, which had released around 10 books a years, will be folded into Hachette Books.

The official wasn't authorized to speak publicly on an ongoing probe and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Weinstein has been accused of sexual misconduct by numerous women, including Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Cara Delevingne, and more.

The message from Twitter did not explain why her account was frozen, although informed her she had broken the network's rules, and that she needed to delete the offending tweets to restore her account. McGowan then went to Instagram to summon her "Rose army" to fight the power, claiming "powerful forces" were working against her.

Representatives for Twitter declined to comment Thursday.

The screenshot announced a temporary freeze that prevented her from tweeting, retweeting or liking for 12 hours. The sanctions came after the Charmed and Nip/Tuck star talked about the Weinstein allegations.
