Rose McGowan Speaks at Women's Convention: 'Time to Clean House' in Hollywood

"I found it so commendable that she was putting the incident behind her and moving forward with her career", Rodriguez says of first meeting McGowan. "No more, name it, shame it call it out, join me, join all of us". I've been harassed. I've been maligned... "I'm just like you", the 44-year-old McGowan said. "I think she's awesome and really talented and I'm going to cast her in my next movie, '" the director said.

After McGowan was banned by Twitter for publicly attacking fellow actor Ben Affleck on the platform (she alleges he lied about what he knew of Weinstein's history of sexual misconduct), sympathizers started the hashtag #WomenBoycottTwitter-leading to a day-long boycott of the social media platform. Though McGowan had previously revealed she was a rape survivor, and that her assault was perpetrated by a powerful studio boss, she did not comment in the story.

With a raised fist, McGowan, who delivered the impassioned speech during the Women's Convention in Detroit on Friday morning, assured the audience that despite her stardom, her story mirrored all of theirs.

Weinstein was sacked from The Weinstein Company on October 8 after The New York Times published an expose that detailed decades of sexual harassment allegations against him.

Robert Rodriguez, the director of "Grindhouse" and "Sin City", said he knew about the alleged sexual assault by Harvey Weinstein of Rose McGowan, and chose to cast McGowan in "Grindhouse" to get back at Weinstein for the incident.

Director Robert Rodriguez has said that he knew of Rose McGowan's rape allegations against Harvey Weinstein when he cast her in Grindhouse and that he made the decision to "literally make him pay". "[Movies are] all told through 96 percent males in the Directors' Guild of America; that statistic has not changed since 1946", she said.

McGowan cautioned against accepting that alleged bad behavior in Hollywood is "an isolated thing".

"I came to be a voice for all of us who have been told we are nothing, for all of us who have been looked down on, for all of us who have been grabbed by the m*****-f****** p****". "No more. Name it, shame it and call it out". "It is the messaging system for your mind".

"I know the men behind that view". They shouldn't be in your mind and they shouldn't be in my mind.

My name is Rose McGowan, and I am fearless, and I am you. "Join me. It's time to clean house".

McGowan also referenced an infamous quote uttered by President Donald Trump back in 2005, when he was recorded speaking in to Access Hollywood host Billy Bush aboard a bus about grabbing women's genitals.
