Manchester United looking to conclude £30m deal for Carlos Soler from Valencia

While United are reportedly looking to sign Soler for around £30m, the Spain Under-21 worldwide has a £75m buyout clause in his contract at the Mestalla Stadium. Jose Mourinho sees him as a flawless foil for Paul Pogba and Matic in his midfield, to form a potent trident.

The 20-year-old Soler first caught United's attention last season when he broke into Valencia's first-team.

According to Daily Mail, the 20-year-old player has got a release clause of £75million in his contract but the La Liga club would likely accept a fee of £30million due to the ongoing financial concerns. He has had a direct hand in 5 goals this season, in 9 league appearances - one goal and four assists.

United are only looking to sign him after the end of the current campaign.

Soler has started all nine of Valencia's matches in La Liga this season and helped them remain unbeaten in that time.

The Daily Mail had claimed Manchester United and Valencia talks were already underway, something the Spanish club deny.

The Portuguese tactician has the services of Matic, Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick as the first choice midfielders in the squad.

The transfer would take place next summer, meaning Soler would make its debut for United in the 2018/19 season. He now has a £75m release clause in his contract, however it is unlikely it would cost that much to bring him to Manchester. However, the midfielder has played down the reports after suggesting that his focus remains on contributing to Valencia on the pitch.
