'I am a very intelligent person,' declares Donald Trump

"This is another example of where - you know, right is wrong, black is white, left is right, up is down", Scarborough continued.

Someone who attended the same Ivy League as Trump said that some of the "most intellectually lazy people" were colleagues he met at school.

"I think the press makes me more uncivil than I am", Trump said. "I went to an Ivy League college".

"I may not be the smartest person in the world, but I can read the president's tweets".

"I think the press creates a different image of Donald Trump than the real person", Trump added.

In a bid to change what he believes is an unfair perception of him, US President Donald Trump has brought up his education as proof of his intelligence.

'I was extremely nice to her, ' he told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

'Everybody has said unbelievable, good thing about me, but you never report that, ' he said. And it is on Twitter - where there is no press filter - that Trump often appears to be at his most uncivil.

He followed his remarks up by saying that it is always okay to "counter-punch or to fight back" someone that says something false about a person. "There's no question about it".

Note that Trump did not say he is civil; he said the media depicts him as more uncivil than he actually is. Bob Corker "liddle' Bob" and "a lightweight" and mocked Sen.

What's striking about the president's claim that "the press creates a different image of Donald Trump than the real person" is that Trump prides himself on shaping his own image through social media. "He's been bad for the great people of Arizona, a state that likes Donald Trump very much".
