'Game Of Thrones' star Jason Momoa criticised after rape joke video resurfaces

Jason Momoa has released an apology after a comment he once made about getting to "rape handsome women" on Game of Thrones spread online years later.

A 2011 clip of Justice League star Jason Momoa joking about rape has sparked outrage.

He was on the panel with fellow stars from HBO's Game of Thrones.

A clip of the incident has resurfaced online in the wake of allegations that Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed and assaulted numerous women over a career of over 20 years.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Momoa for comment.

"But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there's so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it.and rape handsome women", he says.

Emilia Clarke (plays Daenerys Targaryen), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) were seen holding their heads in their hands.

Jason Momoa has found himself in hot water for inappropriate comments he made during a 2011 Comic-Con panel.

We're pleased to see that he has owned up for his comments and offered an apology, but the comment shouldn't have been made in the first place. Discussing the film in a 2014 interview with Entertainment Weekly he said, "The biggest thing is that I'm a father, and a husband, and a son, and a grandson".

Momoa's Justice League co-star Ben Affleck has been hit with accusations of sexual harassment in the past few days, to which he also issued an apology.
