Anthony Martial set to stay at Manchester United amid Arsenal interest

One potential option that the Frenchman should consider is offering the former Barcelona man to Manchester United in January as part of a swap deal for Anthony Martial, even if Arsenal have to sweeten the deal with a cash figure.

However, it looks like Wenger will have to look elsewhere as the Mirror are citing a report from the Manchester Evening News that claims Martial wants to remain at United and fight for his place.

Citing reports in Spain, it says they are eager to "take advantage of Jose Mourinho's reluctance to hand Martial a starting spot" by bringing him to the Camp Nou.

Martial, a summer 2015 transfer deadline day acquisition from Monaco, has five goals and five assists for United in nine appearances this season.

The newspaper says the French global is happy at Old Trafford and he seems to be winning over Mourinho after the United boss heaped praise on the attacker late last month. Sanchez himself was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this past summer.

French forward Anthony Martial has been identified by Barcelona as a replacement for long term injury victim Ousame Dembele.

Martial considered the possibility of a loan move to Sevilla midway through last season but Mourinho was determined to keep hold of the young forward.

Martial had a sensational debut campaign at Old Trafford, and has made a similarly bright start to the ongoing season, despite not being a guaranteed starter.

The 21-year-old has been dropping eye catching performances when he has gotten the chance but it seems it has not been enough to impress Jose Mourinho.
