Steve Mnuchin might want to stop talking for a little while

Mnuchin's comments come after it was revealed that he had requested to use a government plane for his honeymoon earlier this year.

"Let me be clear: I'm very sensitive to the use of government funds", Mnuchin said.

Mnuchin said as a member of the president's National Security Council he needed a secure communication link with Washington and his staff put in a request for use of an Air Force jet for his honeymoon trip with his wife Louise Linton to Scotland, France and Italy.

Mnuchin has claimed that his use of government aircraft, which costs about $25,000 an hour, was due to a need for a "secure communications facility" while traveling. The inspector general is reviewing whether he improperly used that trip to catch a prime view of the solar eclipse with his wife, a Scottish actress and model named Louise Linton. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) met with Mnuchin during that trip and tweeted a photo of them watching the eclipse together, complete with proper eyewear.

The attention to his aircraft is the latest in a period of turbulence for Mnuchin and Linton, who was criticized for the online shaming of an OR woman who questioned her Instagram flaunting after the Kentucky trip. "This [using the military jet] was one of the things we explored".

Linton drew huge amounts of negative attention when, emerging from that flight to Kentucky, she posted an Instagram picture of her outfit - tagging a number of her favorite designers. I'm pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day "trip" than you did.

After the Yale alumni told Mr. Mnuchin that he had a moral obligation to quit Mr. Trump's cabinet, Mr. Mnuchin issued a statement denouncing hate, defending the president and refusing to quit. (Corporate oligarchs do this all the time, and you've got the government to do it for you.) You got wealthy enough running your foreclosure mill to pay for the installation and still have enough left over for your wife to keep herself in "adorable" Hermes and Valentino for the rest of her days.
