Koln's Jhon Cordoba Scores A 40-Yard Stunner Against Arsenal

Mark Ogden discusses whether British clubs would receive similar coverage had their fans behaved the same as Cologne's fans during the Europa League match against Arsenal.

Arsenal have announced they are undertaking a full review into the events on Thursday, and said "the safety of everyone in and around Emirates Stadium is always our paramount consideration".

Many bought tickets in Arsenal sections, increasing the security headache.

In opening disciplinary proceedings, European football's governing body's investigation will look at disturbances, setting off fireworks, throwing of objects, acts of damage and blocked stairways.

UEFA said it would deal with the cases on September 21.

Cologne apologised to Arsenal for "a group of so-called disturbers" which they said "threatened, insulted, and even attacked stewards and police officers without cause".

"I don't know how they [Cologne supporters] were able to infiltrate our fans but they did it very well".

"It would be completely unfair [to be punished by UEFA] because I think we prepared well before the game to stop people who are not Arsenal members to buy tickets", Wenger told Sky Sports News.

Despite conceding an early goal from Jhon Cordoba, the second half saw the Gunners find the back of the net three times in order to come away with all the spoils, and everyone is going nuts over the build up to their final goal.

Arsenal ran out 3-1 winners in the end after the German side took the lead against the Gunners in spectacular fashion.

That meant many attempted to enter without tickets or with tickets for the Arsenal sections, where it soon became clear ahead of kick-off that plenty had succeeded.

However, more than the match, it was Cologne fans who bagged more headlines.

Arsene Wenger believes it would be "completely unfair" if Arsenal were punished by UEFA for the violence which marred the club's Europa League win over Cologne at the Emirates.

Cologne coach Peter Stoeger refused to be questioned on the actions of the club's supporters, saying: "I have no comment about the fans".

One major factor for me is the competition that an in form Wilshere can offer to Ozil and the extra options it gives our manager in his team selection.
